Summary
-
The Oxenford Quarry is due to closed February 2022
-
The owners have lodged a Development Application with Gold City Council to continue operations for 100+ years, as well as quarry 110+ metres below the river level and 90m up to the top of the ridge.
-
The DA was lodged in May 2019.
-
A decision will be made by council 14 September 2021
-
As at 14 August, the applicant has not yet provided a Dewatering Management Plan
-
Quarrying below the river level will result in a 6km2 area being drained of water, and it appears the plan is to pump it directly into the Coomera River at a rate of approx 30-40L per second 24/7
-
The Haulage Route has many homes built within a few metres from the road whereas 100m is required on either side
-
There are over 1000 homes within 1000m of the quarry
-
If this proposal is approved, the quarry will be blasting 150m away from homes & 350m from Oxenford State School

The residents request that NuCrush honour their current court order to regenerate the quarry and cease operations by February 2022
Evidence & information we have gathered to prove that this DA should rejected
